We put below the steps to transition a work permit from a regular company to BOI one. However, please make sure you have at least 1 month left in your visa for the following steps to work.
Step 1. Your new employer must apply for your position with the BOI single window system. It should be approved in 3 business days.
Step 2. Your old employer should take your passport to cancel your long-term visa in advance at the immigration office. This step is very important because you need to make sure your old employer tells the immigration the date of your last day of work to be far enough so that the new employer has time to do steps 3 and 4.
Step 3. The new employer seeks the BOI’s approval to fill you into the new position. This step can be done in about one week and only after step 2.
Step 4. The old employer returns your work permit on your last working day and within the same day, you will go to the BOI’s One Stop Service Center topick up your new work permit and extend your visa. This step is very crucial. Please make sure both things happen on your last working day at the old job.
